proper celebration

New Year’s celebrations in Rensåsparken, under the auspices of the municipality, have been a constant tradition for over 20 years.

Due to the Corona situation and current infection control rules, there will be no regular New Year event in Rensåsen 2021. However, this year’s New Year celebration will also be implemented as a digital event, and broadcasts will be available via the Bodø Municipality website, YouTube channel and Facebook page.

It will also be broadcast to the media.

Ask people not to gather

Broadcasting begins as usual at 18:00 on New Year’s Eve, and the program includes speeches by the mayor and vocals from the Bodo Cathedral Youth Choir. Therefore this part of the program will not be conducted in Rensåsen.

Bodo’s official New Year celebration ends as usual with a spectacular fireworks display, but without the audience at Rensåsparken.

– Because of the infection control, the municipality must, this year as last year, ask people not to come to Rensåsen, but to watch the fireworks either from the stairs or from the window of the house.
