– Things should be fine. Technology can be beautiful — and generate electricity at the same time, says father of two John Fasting Sorbo, 49, in Kristiansand.

green solution.
Feel free to call them vertical wind turbines. Sorbo says it would be a nice strong bank.
Light or camera surveillance
Solar panels must be crimped under the turbine, like leaves on a stem.
Thus, Sorbo’s innovation will be able to provide electricity whether it is windy or sunny.
with In other words, large parts of the day.
The entire installation must be level with the lamp post.
– This is no coincidence. I think this will be a power package on renewable energy that can provide light, camera monitoring, sensor data, traffic computation and things like that, says the entrepreneur.
The project is supported by approximately 500,000 kroner and directed by the Innovation Norway Foundation.
– He gave life support to my project. It also gives credibility to the market, says the 49-year-old, who in 2022 is looking for an investor.
passed in 2019
Figures from government entrepreneurship support show that we crossed the green line in the year before the pandemic.
In 2019, for the first time, more than half of all support provided by Innovation Norway went to the “green projects” category.
Last year, the stake rose to 60 percent – or NOK 5 billion.
This is close to doubling in five years.
Consumers expect it. The authorities demand it. Now we see that companies need to go home and take a look at their business models. FRemtidens job opportunities lie in green transformation, says Sveinung Hovstad of Innovation Norway Agder.
He says Sorbo is an example of entrepreneurs who are “burning out after becoming part of the green transition”.
– Our mission is to mitigate risks so that more innovative and green projects are realized. This is how new businesses and jobs are created, says Hofstad.
won’t trash
Sorbo says it’s no coincidence that he became a “green” contractor.
– This is the whole key. Our consumer is very large. I make a small contribution. So that we can retrieve, monitor or illuminate the data in a more reasonable way.
The 49-year-old has always been fascinated by the wind.
In 2008 I had the idea to develop vertical wind turbines. In the end, the idea of adding solar energy to the calculation arose.
It is not against wind turbines and wind farms.
– But I’m worried about not throwing the garbage. Technology too can be nice to look at. It can also be a beautiful design.
