Kjetil Rekdal wants to take his former student Kristian Eriksen (26) with him to Trondheim, but HamKam refuses to sell. “I had hoped that the Comrades would be more than a slogan,” says Eriksen to Hamar Arbiderblad.

Kjetil Rekdal went from HamKam to Rosenborg in January. Now he hopes to bring star of the 2021 season, Christian Eriksen, on the lamb.

But the Hammar team fought a difficult battle, rejecting two offers from the Trondheim club.

Rosenborg submitted very strong bids and was informed that I was not for sale. That’s a bad job. I’d like to talk to RBK. Playing in Rosenborg has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember, Eriksen tells HA.

Espen Olsen, sporting director at HamKam, confirmed to VG that they have received an offer, but:

– It is not appropriate to sell Eriksen. There are 3.5 weeks until the start of the series. He says it is not working.

Eriksen went from being an unemployed player during the Corona break, to getting a place in the HamKam team to Rekdal, to and last season he was named Player of the Year in the promotion season.

It has become a favorite of the masses in the city where he grew up. He scored 13 goals and made 10 assists last season.

But he does not fulfill his dream of playing with RBK.

– I hoped the comrades were more than just a slogan, he says.

The 26-year-old started his football career in green and white, and played for Hamar Cameraten in First Division in 2014 and Second Division in 2015. Since then, he has played for Bromundal and Elverum, before returning to Priskeby in 2020.

He also has a personal story that influenced many:

Hamkam also fought hard in negotiations with coach Keitel Ryckdal and his assistant, Geir Friggaard, but in the end got what they asked of Trondelag.

Earlier this spring, they brought with them Sam Rogers from HamKam. But it doesn’t look like they can handle more of an Olympic city.

HamKam series opener against Lillestrøm on 2 April. This will be their first game in the Elite Series since relegation in 2008.

Christian Eriksen did not respond to VG’s inquiries on Monday night.
