Salah focuses only on Liverpool

Every now and then cases emerge about the state of Mohamed Salah’s contract, and in recent days, speculation is erupting again. This happened after Jurgen Klopp said before the Brighton match that Salah was the decision whether he wanted an extension, and after news emerged that negotiations had stalled since December.

Transitional journalist Fabrizio Romano came up on Tuesday with a short update on Twitter where he somewhat portrays the situation. Among other things, he denied the rumors circulating about a possible transfer to one of the giants in the Spanish League.

“Mohamed Salah currently has no plans to move to La Liga. He is not desperate to leave this summer – the contract expires in June 2023 after which he can leave for free. Salah is focused only on Liverpool,” writes Romano.

He repeats his own information from last week that the talks are not going anywhere. Romano also adds that it is up to Liverpool to fire what Salah and his agent are asking.

I had to talk about Salah again

Following Klopp’s comments before the weekend, Salah’s agent Rami Abbas Issa, as before several times, took to Twitter to show his class by leaving a painful sting in the direction of Liverpool FC. This time it was in the form of Seven emoji laughing out loud.

“I’m not on Twitter, and there’s another good reason for that,” Jürgen Klopp said at his press conference on Tuesday.

He added that he regretted his comment on the case before the end of the week.

– He’s in a good mood, but I talked about this – and I shouldn’t have done it. I don’t know if you said anything, but you put me in a trap and made a headline. Everything is fine, I don’t know any reaction to it. I’m not worried about that. This is the way it should be at the moment. We will see that Salah is injury-free and ready for the match against Arsenal on Wednesday, said Klopp, who also added.

Salah has stated several times that he wants to stay at Liverpool, and Klopp is open to wanting to continue with the 29-year-old – but if that were to happen, Liverpool should make him the club’s highest-paid player in history, and make him one of the best players in the league.

It remains to be seen if Liverpool break their salary structure and can afford to keep Salah.
