A dreamless start: Dennis Hauger didn’t get a smooth start in Formula 2. Here’s from a Lendo commercial earlier this week.

Dennis Hauger (19) didn’t get a perfect start in Formula 2, and a potential penalty could await the Norwegian on his debut.

On Friday, Hueger drove Formula 2 for the first time, but qualifying in Bahrain wasn’t a dream come true for Orskog’s big son.

The 19-year-old got into trouble just a few minutes later, when he was about to enter the warehouse. Immediately behind was Estonian Yuri Phipps, who was pushed far to the side when Höger crossed the field to the right.

The VIPs were clearly frustrated, and after a few minutes a message arrived from the jury that they would investigate Hueger’s maneuver after qualifying.

In the worst case, it could be punishment for Höger, says Viaplay commentator Attlee Gulbrandsen when the message appeared on screen.

The actual times Hueger set in qualifying weren’t great either, and he ended up 15th. The result was 0.967 seconds ahead of qualifier Jack Doohan, who finished second He succeeded Hueger in the Formula 3 championship last season.

– Of course, we would have liked it to go a little better, but it’s new terrain. This is not where you come in and get “prime positions”. Here you have to fight for it. One must learn. Dennis got a little taste of it, sums up expert Viaplay commentator Stein Pettersen.

Theo Pourchaire took second place, while Vips took third place.

Qualifying lays the groundwork for this weekend’s race in Bahrain. On Sunday, the main race and starting order will begin, following the list of results in Friday’s qualifiers.

But already on Saturday, a shorter sprint race will be held, and the starting order will be reversed for those who took the top ten in qualifying. That is, the number 10 in qualification starts as the number one in a sprint, and vice versa.

Thus, Friday’s 15th place gave no advantage to Hoeger in the sprint race, as he finished the race outside the top 10. In other words, the Norwegian will start from 15th as the best starting position in both Saturday’s sprint and Sunday’s main race.
