The EU’s Rapex (Rapid Alert System for Dangerous Non-Food Products) has reported this. There is weakness in the steering knot which allows it to break or deform under high load. This, in turn, will lead to decreased stability, loss of vehicle control, and an increased risk of accidents, according to Rappex
In total, Tesla calls 23437 Model Y for inspection and possible replacement of parts in the steering. The affected cars were built between June 16, 2020 and November 10, 2021 — all at the Tesla plant in China. Hence the Norwegian Model Y came from the beginning until Tesla opened its new factory in Berlin, Germany a few weeks ago.

8300 cars in Norway
We asked Tesla Norway how many cars are affected in Norway? If they start planning to call the cars back to the garage? What if they encounter any problems driving in Norway?
We have received an answer from Tesla Norway which reads as follows:
– Thank you for your inquiry. Tesla does not want to comment on this issue.
From June 2020 to the end of 2021, we know that 8,300 new Tesla Model Y have been registered in Norway. All are made in our factory in China. We don’t know if all of these cars are affected by the recall. It is common for such recalls for the owners to receive an email with a summons to the workshop. We know that Tesla has its own side too (Recall Tesla VIN Search), where the owners themselves can enter a so-called VIN number on the vehicle to check if it is affected by the recall.
