VALLE (VG) (Vålerenga – Haugesund 2-1) was substituted when Vålerenga chased down a goal in the opening match. Vidar Oren Kjartansson (32) showed on Sunday that he still knows very well when the ball comes in.
With both of Valringa’s goals, the Icelandic secured a 2-1 victory after a match rich in opportunities at Intility.
A perfect evening for me, but it could have been better. He could have been more comfortable for the team. We must learn and kill the battle. But three points … I’m thrilled, says the striker to VG.

The cost of the first home game of the year wasn’t nearly as good. Kartanson has had a fever since Wednesday and felt better again on match day. But in the 0-1 loss to Molde last weekend, he felt refreshed, but coach Dag Elif Vajirmo pushed him off the field:
– I felt perfect against his generator. We needed goals to equalize, so I totally disagreed with Dag-Eilev. that happens. Two strong personalities, says Kjartanson.
Also against Hogesund, the top scorer was taken off with two goals in the second half, but then felt dizzy and thought it was right. Fagermo explains why he finally chose that he is only explaining to Kjartanson.
But he likes to talk about why the Icelandic is so noticeable this year. The VIF striker spent just four minutes and five seconds of the Haugesund game on the same thing he needed eight games, 491 minutes and three months in last year’s season: two league goals.
– He didn’t train as well in Vålerenga as he does now. When we make a lot, a lot will score, Vålerenga coach for VG guarantees.
Against Haugesund, at least Kjartansson and Vålerenga can score a lot more. That they finished that part when the clock only showed five minutes, one would have never believed as was the sequel.
– The first half hour was a lot of fun, a great half hour as we passed over them. There we should have punched the match, but we didn’t make it, says Fagermo.
The two goals for his team came after a corner kick, the first a minute before he played it. The Vegar Eggen Hedenstad flipped over on the head of Ivan Näsberg, who headed for Kjartansson. With a right arrogant heel kick, the Icelander thrust into the lead.
In the second goal there was a corner kick from the opposite side and the opposite back: Leonard Zotta’s center disappeared from 16 metres, but Peter Strand was everywhere as long as he was devastated as an indoor runner. It was the Bergen player who fixed a corner before 1-0 – after just 20 seconds – and now he’s in front again:
Strand had the ball, passed Christos Zaferis from Haugesund and Kevin Craigard and raced into the blue penalty area. Of course, Kjartansson was the best, leading the other Vålerenga striker with his header.
– I think it was good. A very good start to the match with the rest of the team. Then it gets more chaotic after a while, and in general well, Strand tells VG about his debut at home at Intility, where he also took a half-hour at right-back.
In large parts of the first half, Valringa managed the match correctly. The Desert/Strand duo was to Hugesund as Batman and Robin were to Gotham City’s villains – and VIF’s new left attack also seemed to have superpowers compared to the guest defense.
They combined, cut, and placed stakes consistently for the first half hour. That’s not the desert net particularly in this match, among all the fun he does with the ball, remains the number one puzzle of Easter.
At the very least, he should have broken through the match for 2-1 in the second half. After a beautiful team attack between the same Sahrawi, the alternates Henrik Udall and Tobias Christensen regained the wing in the Center of Dreams.
But he went on to make it as playful as possible and swept the shot into the cross direction. More disappeared.
– The first half hour there was only one team on the field, so to speak. We ran them over and we should have done more. But we can’t kill the fight. I have good chances, but I don’t know why, but the ball won’t go in, the little boy told VG.
Towards the end of the first half, Haugesund greatly reduced. A powerful and precise cross pass from winger Aligner N’Dour gave a new miniaturization and excitement. He could have been stronger when Hogesund had more chances in the second half. But either Christos Xavieres fired off the field – or VIF goalkeeper Kjetil Haug got in the way.
On the other hand, substitute Henrik Udal of Kjartansson was able to decorate the result of the victory in overtime. But the goal kick hit the crossbar in the last and sixteenth goal opportunity of the match.
note! Vegar Eggen Hedenstad was forced out with a hoarding problem early in the second half. The first reports after that indicate that the matter was not serious.
