According to Ars Technica, Fitbit typically claims the reports are from skin irritation or friction, but the lawsuit claims that’s not the case and believes it’s caused by a fault in the battery and charging system.
– Refunds trained
The lawsuit also criticizes Ionk’s recall. Google, which now owns Fitbit, has promised to refund customers who have returned their watches. However, in the lawsuit, the company was alleged to be training this.
The Fitbit Ionic was launched in 2017, but stopped production in 2020. One million units were sold in the United States, while 700,000 copies were sold in the rest of the world.
Google, which owns Fitbit, has not yet commented on the matter.
