Six people were treated for injuries after bulls ran during a festival in Spain on Thursday.
The accident occurred during the last event of the annual San Fermin Festival, which lasts nine days in the Spanish city of Pamplona. It is said that hundreds of people took part in the race, which lasted just over two minutes.
Along with a sea of people ran a flock of bulls – they are the hallmark of the festival. According to the Associated Press, the herd was quiet and mostly distanced itself from the running festival participants. Bulls that participate in the races are subsequently killed by professional bullfighters.
Although four people were stabbed during this year’s festival, no serious injuries were reported.
The festival is a popular gathering place for tens of thousands of people. This is the first festival since 2019, after a two-year stay due to the Corona pandemic.
The festival has a bloody history, with up to 16 people killed since its inception in 1910. The last time this happened was in 2009.
