The accident occurred during the last event of the annual San Fermin Festival, which lasts nine days in the Spanish city of Pamplona. It is said that hundreds of people took part in the race, which lasted just over two minutes.

Along with a sea of ​​people ran a flock of bulls – they are the hallmark of the festival. According to the Associated Press, the herd was quiet and mostly distanced itself from the running festival participants. Bulls that participate in the races are subsequently killed by professional bullfighters.
