This summer is going to be one of the hottest ever, and it could be the warmest ever, Travis Herzog tells VG.

The American is the chief meteorologist at ABC13 Houston. Last week, when the power grid was overloaded, the spotlight was lit on live television, as Herzog showed the weather to residents of the fourth-largest city in the United States. It didn’t just happen once, but twice in the same day.

The clip, which you can see here, later garnered a lot of attention.

– It was a comical moment. The first time I didn’t understand what was going on, or whether we were still on TV, but the second time I knew I was live, and decided to joke around with her a little. It’s funny how the video went viral, Herzog says, but hopefully we can keep the lights on for the rest of the summer.

– Does Houston have a problem?

Houston can handle the heat, but the Texas power grid can have a problem. This is our main concern now. We are constantly seeing that stress on the power grid has reached a record level, and warnings are being given that usage must be reduced. At the same time, we still have the warmest month of the year ahead, says the chief meteorologist.

According to ERCOT, which monitors the load on Texas’ power grid, there is a risk of blackouts for the state’s 30 million residents.

Cool Down: Erling Haaland, Jack Grealish, and Oleksandr Zinchenko use ice baths after training in Houston.

In parallel, Haaland and the rest of the stars of the Premier League champion’s exhibition are training in the Houston Sports Park. The oil city accommodation is part of the US training camp, which also consists of a game against Germany’s Bayern Munich in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Sunday night Norwegian time.

Prior to training in Houston, the City players had completed strength training exercises and partially warmed up in a cold lounge, while sweat cleaned them off the grass during sessions.

– Fabulous! It was hot, and Calvin Phillips, 26, certified his new signature when he went out in the sun here in Houston before the first practice session.

– My God. Algerian star Riyad Mahrez (31) commented in a clip from Manchester City’s media department, it’s like coming to a sauna.

“Oh my God, my God.” Right-back Kyle Walker (32) repeated several times when he was greeted by the free.

Houston’s temperature has been recorded for 133 years – since 1889. May this year is the second warmest month in the city’s history, while June has been the warmest ever. Recently, a record for the highest temperature was set in July. Weather chief US meteorologist worries about ABC13. For a traditionally warmer month, August, it still awaits.

“I really hope this pattern will change,” says Herzog, but so far there’s not much to suggest.

Manchester City meet Mexican America on Wednesday at 18.30 local time. Even so, the sun is expected to reach 40 degrees. The settlement is broadcast live on VG+, with the match kicking off at 02.30 NST.

The vast majority of City’s training on the US tour is closed to the public, but video images show that coach Pep Guardiola has prepared for the intense competition despite the exhausting heat. With only two weeks to go until the Community Shield match against Liverpool and barely three weeks until the Premier League opener against West Ham, the focus appears to be acute. Haaland and the other players, like the 19-year-old Oslo boy Oscar Bob, who was chosen from the academy for the occasion, seem focused and hardworking.
