Christiansen in his second week of trial with Sarpsborg 08.

Originally, he was only supposed to feature for the league’s elite team last week, along with Finnish midfielder Timo Stavitsky. But since Finn was sent home, Christiansen got another week to show what he’s good at.

– I hope there’s something here. This sounds like a very cool and exciting club, Christiansen tells BA.

Not the first

The Godvik man has been without a contract since his release by German giants Borussia Mönchengladbach in June.

All summer long, he’s been busy in Fire and passion training, Before he had the chance now in Sarpsborg.

– I’m not emphasizing anything, but August is approaching, so it was good to have something in place. I expect there will be clarification on what will happen here over the weekend, says the 21-year-old.

If there is a contract at Ostfold, Christiansen joins an already long list of local players who have tried their hand at Sarpsborg 08 in recent years.

The blue jerseys have already been sold by Joachim Soltvedt and Stephen Lee Skalevik in the stable, while Christopher Zakop Gleesens and Gaut Viti are all sold for good money having already made their way in eastern Norway. Sigurd Kvile also visited Sarpsborg 08, but had to return to his home in Bergen and Åsane before he had great success in football.

Sarpsborg has a very good history with people from Bergen, and I’d like to be the next! I get the impression that they are happy with me. They extended my stay, so hopefully that’s a good sign, says Christiansen.

Bought in Bergen

The midfielder was seen as one of Bran’s biggest talents before he chose to go to Germany at the age of 17.

In June, the adventure ended and Christiansen returned home and bought an apartment in Bergen.

The acquisition took place in August, but it seems unlikely that he will be living there any time soon.

– It will probably be my girlfriend who will live there in the first place, and then we will see where I end up, says Christiansen.
