Muhammed Boya Toray (27) made his debut for Malmo in the home match against F91 Dudelange in the Europa League qualifiers, almost two weeks after he signed for the Swedish club.
The 27-year-old Sierra Leonean enjoyed a busy summer after leaving Chinese club Henan Songshan Longmen. Moving to Malmö was so busy that he missed his wedding. He tells the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet.
At the beginning of the week, the news of his marriage to his girlfriend Souad was published.
– We got married on July 21 in Sierra Leone. But I wasn’t there because Malmo wanted me to join the team earlier.
The day after the wedding, Toray was introduced as a player in Malmö. However, he was able to share photos from the wedding.
– We took pictures in advance. So it looks like I was there, but I wasn’t. He explains that my brother had to represent me at the wedding itself.
As of Thursday, he had not yet met Souad since she became his wife.
– But I will try to move her to Sweden and Malmö now so that she is close to me. She will live here with me, says Toray, who has a three-year-old daughter in Sweden from a previous relationship.
He can also reveal that the honeymoon will be after the season is over, and hopefully Malmö will win the gold in the league.
