After several weeks of negotiations, Feyenoord has accepted an offer to buy the 26-year-old from Portuguese club Benfica, according to TV 2 information.
According to TV 2 sources, Benfica pays around 150 million NOK to the former Molde player.
Aursnes was not in Feyenoord’s squad for today’s match against Waalwijk, which is directly related to the bid accepted.
Aursnes has long agreed with Benfica on his personal circumstances, and therefore the transfer to the national team player is expected to be completed within a short time.
What remains, among other things, is the medical test.
– Aursnes showed his class to his birth in Europe, to the national team when he had the opportunity, not least for Feyenoord after he went there. Now having a chance at a bigger club is well deserved, TV 2 football expert Jesper Mathiesen says, and living in Lisbon and playing for Benfica should be absolutely perfect for the 26-year-old in the next few years.
Now he is entering what will probably be his best year of his career and I would like to believe that Ståle Solbakken is well satisfied with this choice of the new club.
Feyenoord brought Frederic Orsnes from Molde last year for about five million crowns. Club manager Ole Erik Stavrum confirms that his generator has percentages in the resale, but does not respond to questions about stake size.
