Search operation in Aalan for missing 50-year-old man – NRK Trøndelag

– We are working very extensively to find out where he might have gone, says mission leader Bjorn Selgren.

Police say they have several theories about what might have happened to a 50-year-old man who went missing on his way to work Tuesday morning.

– We have people searching in the river, the Red Cross and Norwegian People’s Aid searching in the immediate area. We also have scouts and Norwegian rescue dogs contributing to the search, says Selgren.

Police say they want to keep open all possibilities as to what happened. NRK’s ​​reporter at the scene says, among other things, the manguard in the city center was searched, sheds, sheds and outbuildings were checked. The police said that the search will continue in full swing until it is daylight.

The search operation was initially centered around Allan’s center in Holdalen, Trøndelag. The man’s family reported him missing yesterday. He left his house early in the morning, but according to his employer, he did not reach them.

– The fire service used a drone, used a surface search in the river, and we searched with crews on the terrain in the center of Allen and nearby areas, task leader Lars Berget tells NRK on Wednesday morning.

Police ask anyone who has seen the man to come forward with tips.

It was not far from the man’s home and workplace, police said.

– It is within walking distance. So he went missing yesterday morning after leaving his home, says Håkon Flor, head of police work at the scene. He said that the search operation has now been intensified.

– Many of the same areas we searched last night are now light and a bit easier to see. “We do it more fully when it’s light,” he says.

The police are also working with electronic traces, but this has yet to lead to anything.

– We are using the evidence we have to find him.

It is also being considered whether a helicopter will be used in the search operation.
