“Merry Christmas in Norway” – Vår repeated the celebration from last year

Last year, the ravages of the coronavirus led to a different Christmas for many. One of those Christmas was ruined by Good Morning Norway presenter Vår Staude (56). When she tested positive for the virus a few days before Christmas last year, all plans were abruptly disrupted.

Farr was looking forward to a relaxing Christmas with her husband and children, but instead had to sit alone in solitude on the mountain. The family can’t be together on Christmas Eve either.

– Because of Corona, we were unable to celebrate Christmas as we had been looking forward to it for a long time with all the children. Instead, we sat here and there, separately, to avoid infecting others. It was very sad, Stodd remembers.

Celebration on the mountain

This year’s celebration will also be distributed. Daughters Malin, 25, and Anneken, 23, will spend Christmas Eve in Bali, where the eldest works as a drill instructor, while Farr, rowing partner Knut Hollmann, 54, and son Casper, 15, will celebrate with Farr’s sister. Family at Skeikampen.

– It will be very comfortable! We are not distinguished by fixed rituals. The most important thing is to enjoy yourself, light lots of candles, self eat deer and listen to Queen of Gospel Mahalia Jackson. We hope for lots of snow and nice skiing, says the 56-year-old.

As the presenter of Good Morning Norway, Farr is used to being at work before most others wake up. She doesn’t sleep at Christmas either, but the TV profile is very much looking forward to leading the morning broadcast “Merry Christmas Norway”, which airs on Little Christmas Eve and Christmas Eve.

– Christmas stocking will be full of good interviews, good food, great atmosphere and nice music. We give a rest to those who have finished their preparations, or to a good friend who cheers you on toward the goal while you iron, bake, decorate or wrap gifts, and Vår smiles.

With her in the studio is her partner Peter Moi-Bobrescu (47), who is also looking forward to spreading Christmas cheer to thousands of homes.

– First of all, the goal is to give people the spirit of Christmas, and I hope that we will be good company for all those who are alone at Christmas, says Bobrescu.

Bubresko is also looking forward to the Christmas live broadcast, but he thinks it’s a little sad to miss morning classes with his partner and kids Marie and Sebastian, who turn six on Christmas Eve!

A small part of the joy is that we have to work on Christmas Eve when my children celebrate their birthdays. They’re used to the occasional dad going in the morning, but they couldn’t wake them up in bed on their birthday with cake bites and little songs, admits the father-of-two.

Not everything went according to plan for Peter during last year’s celebration either. When TV colleague Farr tested positive for Corona, Bobrescu immediately had to go into quarantine, thus not getting to celebrate the children’s fifth birthday.

Fortunately, he tested negative a few days later, and on Christmas Eve the family was back together again.

“It was Christmas after all! I’ve already received all the gifts I need this year – I’m back with my family, I got a negative test for Corona,” the presenter wrote in a joyful update to her followers on social media.

A little Christmas magic

This year, as last year, it is of course the youngest in the center on Christmas Eve, and Peter loves to see how the children’s faces light up with anticipation and joy.

– My goal is to create a safe and beautiful Merry Christmas with a little magic, which we hope children will remember with pleasure for the rest of their lives. The TV profile says the most important thing is to de-stress and enjoy a few lazy days together.
