Australia purchases Naval Strike Missile (NSM) missiles from the Kongsberg Gruppen.
The value of the agreement with Australia is more than NOK 5 billion.
The contract for the billion was signed at the end of 2022 and will be included in the order for the fourth quarter, the company wrote in Message.
“Naval Strike Missile” is a naval target missile and cruise missile. The missile aims to hit targets at a long distance with great accuracy.
In November, Britain’s Defense Secretary, Ben Wallace, called the missiles “the best in the world” when the country bought the same naval missiles.
We believe in increasing defense budgets
The Kongsberg Gruppen’s CEO said at the end of October that he believed it was “underinvested in its security and preparedness”.
We see, hear and believe that defense budgets will increase both in Europe and in other countries. We also see it in demand within both missile and air defense and combat systems and weapons stations, he told E24.
The CEO also said that they expect to sell missiles for NOK 15 billion over the next 18 months.
