In April 2021, Port Lanes (33) was shot dead on an open street in Dansberg. The trial begins on Tuesday, where four people are accused of murder or complicity.
One of them is a 23-year-old Brazilian national.
During the investigation, the police brought in Portuguese-speaking suspects. They pretended to be criminals to get information from the 23-year-old. In police parlance, it’s called trespassing.
Such intrusion, like any other undercover investigation conducted by the police, is covered by strict rules.
Travel to Tromsø
Police agents first met the Norwegian-Brazilian in Oslo, where they had several conversations with him.
Television 2 They then flew the 23-year-old to Tromsø, took him to a hotel and served him alcohol during a meeting with secret agents, they wrote earlier.
Conversations with the 23-year-old, recorded and translated into Norwegian, contain many details about what must have happened before Lanes’ murder – and a possible motive, as reported by NRK.
Cannot be used
NRK also reported that the public prosecutor had decided that parts of the secret investigation could not be used as evidence in court.
This is part of a conversation after a trip to Tromsø, where the man was served wine.
State prosecutor Andreas Christiansen is careful not to comment on the case now because the district court has yet to rule on whether to use the evidence.
But he confirms that he does not want to present all the evidence from the police agents anyway.
– We plan to carry out parts of the penetration, he says.
I will not comment
The 23-year-old’s defender, Østein Storrvik, for his part, has requested that all conversations with the agents be removed as evidence.
Storrvik tells NRK that they cannot comment on the case right now as they await the district court’s ruling.
Fredrik Borg Johannessen, the police prosecutor in the Southeast Police District, has received several questions from NRK about what the police did during the intrusion or whether this will weaken the police’s case when the investigation begins.
To this the police advocate replied:
– He writes that the use of intrusion as evidence in a criminal case should be excluded as evidence from one of the defendants’ defense on behalf of his client. to NRK.
– This is an ongoing process in court, so we cannot comment at this time on the questions related to the assessments conducted in this regard and the rationale behind the prosecution’s inclusion of this in the witness statements.
Permeability was determined according to current guidelines, according to Johannesen.
