Always give your best. Always have faith. It’s paying off, Haaland says Twitter Soon after the gold chain.
Erling Braut Haaland and Manchester City finally managed to shake off the jubilation on Saturday night. After Arsenal lost 0-1 to Nottingham Forest, league gold was secured for the light blue.
Haaland is the fourth Norwegian player to win the league title in England, after Ronnie Johnson, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Henning Berg.
Haaland has scored 36 league goals so far, and he has three games to take that number further.
– He (Haaland) was a big contributor to this league championship, says Viaplay commentator Kasper Wikstad in the broadcast after the league gold was a reality.
The super striker praises Haaland
His teammate is full of praise for the Norwegian.
– It’s like ecstasy when he speeds up. Accuracy, timing, hungry glow. It’s absolutely incredible when you think about the year he was born, says Bojan Djordic, ViaPlay expert.
Former star striker Alan Shearer is also a fan of the Norwegian super striker.
What Erling Haaland gave the city is arrogance, faith and self-confidence. Even when he’s not scoring, Shearer tells the BBC, his running and presence is something he opens up for his teammates.
– Get records one by one
Haaland’s manager, Pep Guardiola, was also lauded after collecting his fifth league gold medal for the club.
– Wikestad says they are taking Manchester United’s records one by one.
City star Ilkay Gundogan is already hung up on the league gold. He is naturally proud of winning another gold medal in the league.
– This team is so talented and unique and being captain was a great privilege, says Gundogan according to BBC.
– This is a season we will never forget, the City captain continued.
Disappointed Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta also congratulated the light Blues on their league gold.
Congratulations to City for winning the league. “Obviously it’s a very sad day for us after everything we’ve done this season, but now we have to face reality,” said the Arsenal boss.
– We should have been better as a team in recent weeks, but we failed, he said.
