Tragic death shakes
Hossein Khosrow Waziri, known as the “Iron Sheikh”, was 81 years old. The cause of death is not yet known.
WWE wrote the following in a statement:
– With great sadness, we received a letter informing of the death of “Sheikh Hadidi”. We send our condolences to the family, friends and supporters.
Iranian Khosrow Waziri was a big name in the world of wrestling, and in April 2005 he was inducted into the organization’s “Hall of Fame”.
He was the only Iranian champion in WWE history, having won the WWF World Heavyweight Championship in 1983.
The Iron Elder was a sinister figure. The rivalry with the latter made Hulk Hogan one of the biggest TV heroes in history in the 1980s and 1990s.
