Calvin Ramsey will be loaned out to Preston

It’s been around for a while now, and now several sources are reporting that Liverpool and Preston have agreed a loan for Calvin Ramsey.

The loan should be for the 2023/24 season.

Liverpool feel the full-back needs regular playing time at senior level. Especially considering how much of the season the Scot has had has been ruined by injuries.

The 19-year-old arrived from Aberdeen last summer with good promise. Among other things, he was named the league’s Young Player of the Year.

Preston finished 12th in the Championship last season, but never had more than six points in the play-offs.

Here, Ramsey will become teammates with former Liverpool talent Ben Woodburn.

What happens in the back seat?

The question is what happens to Ramsay’s role in the stable.

In the same window as Ramsey’s arrival, Liverpool sold Neco Williams to Nottingham Forest.
