England U21 – Israel U21 3-0

On Wednesday night, the England Under-21s lived up to expectations and beat Israel 3-0 in the semi-finals of the European Under-21 Championships in Georgia and Romania.

Expectations were high for England, who also beat Israel in the group stage, but have struggled to make it to these tournaments in recent years. The last time they played a final was in Sweden in 2009, when they lost to Germany as six players helped five years later win the World Cup in Brazil in 2014.

In the 2009 England team, James Milner played right wing – so that’s a long time coming.

Jones was the best on the field

Curtis Jones started the game centrally at midfield with a No. 17 on his back. He played 88 minutes before being replaced by City player Tommy Doyle. Jones played a deeper role in midfield and did his job very well. So good that he was named Best Man semi-finalist.

Harvey Elliott returned after missing the quarter-finals due to planned family reasons. He started the match on the bench but came on and played the last 16 minutes, replacing Arsenal player Emile Smith Rowe.

Saturday at 18.00 is the final match in the Adjarabet Arena in Georgia. The finale will be shown on NRK2, NRKTV, and VGTV+.

We’ll find out who the opponent will be tonight. Then Spain U-21 play Ukraine U-21.
