Actor John Stamos (59) nearly quit the role of Uncle Jesse in “Full House” after reading the series’ first script, reports say. USA Today.

The 59-year-old mentioned that he initially hated filming “Under the Same Roof”, but eventually ended up loving the series he was in. He said it himself on last week’s episode of hot.

The series was originally pitched as an adult comedy starring Stamos, Dave Coulier, and the late Bob Sagets, and the children were written into the script after the original idea was presented to Stamos.

The series quickly proved to be very popular, and it ran on ABC from 1987 to 1995.

During the first script review for the show, Stamos began to worry that his character would be overshadowed by children.

— I remember Jodie Sweetin, who plays Stephanie, reading her lines and people were laughing their heads off. You can’t even hear my lines because they were laughing so hard at it.

Stamos adds that he then called his agent and asked to leave the contract and the series. After a conversation with the agent, he decided to give the series a chance, staying on as Uncle Jesse.
