On October 7th of last year, the woman, Alice Cohen, visited Eataly in Boston.

Eataly is a popular restaurant and food chain with 45 branches around the world, including Norway.

Alice Cohen was in an area giving out free samples when it hit.

Suddenly she found herself on the floor.

The reason, according to the lawsuit, was that Cohen had slipped on a piece of ham and it had fallen on his butt.

Parma ham is a thin, lightly salted, non-smoked, air-dried ham from the province of Parma in Italy.

In the lawsuit, Cohen claims that Boston’s Eataly “breached its duty to its customers by not ensuring that the floor was free of unnecessary hazardous conditions—including thinly sliced ​​fried pork.”

Pain and suffering

In the lawsuit, Cohen claims that in addition to her broken ankle, she was also feeling less happy in life, and that she had experienced “extreme pain and suffering.”

He wants more than half a million

In the lawsuit, one can read that Alice Cohen paid more than $7,500, roughly NOK 80,000, in medical expenses after the Parma-Ham incident.

It is demanding more than $50,000 – more than half a million kroner – in damages, it reports CNN.

Eataly has not yet commented on the lawsuit in the US media.
