The airspace over Pskov Airport in Russia was closed as a result of an alleged drone attack on Tuesday night. He writes on a number of Telegram channels.
Just after midnight Norwegian time, TASS quoted Russian aviation authorities as saying that airspace was also closed over Moscow’s Vnukovo airport, NTB wrote.
Pskov governor Mikhail Vedernikov wrote on Telegram that the Russian defense forces were working to repel a drone attack on the airport, Reuters reported.
Videos in Russian media show explosions and smoke.
According to the Russian news agency RIA, the governor of the Pskov region confirmed that the air forces in the region shot down several drones.
According to the governor, no lives were lost.
However, according to TASS, four Il-76 transport aircraft were said to have been damaged after the attack.
Social media is now awash with videos purporting to show anti-aircraft guns, as well as explosions in the area.
RIA also posted a video showing flames on the horizon.
The airport is located in the Pskov region of western Russia, not far from the borders with Estonia and Latvia.
The Reuters news agency also published messages from the Pskov governor.
