One must search for honest answers to complex issues, and administer these answers wisely to the other side.
It’s good that the police are getting into the fight. Of course, it would just be missing. They must ensure the safety of the public in public places, and do so by cracking down on the finding of such weapons.
But there is clearly another battle to be fought in the future, and we raise it to those who were elected to the municipal councils in Hedmarken for the next four years just a few evenings ago.
The police fight is important, but ultimately it’s about putting out fires. When they have to go out to eliminate robberies, violence and drug sales, the community is already too late.
The battle must be fought nowis the fight that must ensure that the police do not have to fight their own fight.
Maybe it could start by asking yourself questions like who are these young people? Why do they do what they do? What went wrong? What can we do to prevent new youth from growing up and joining the same?
When HA organized an election debate for Hamar municipality last week, the topic was barely mentioned. The time was too short to delve into this issue, but when municipal councils – in Hamar, Ringsäcker, Stange and Lüten – are formed in the future, the new elected representatives will have clear orders for action.
