Exclusive: Molly and Max in the futurestarring a sci-fi rom-com girlsZosia Mamet and SNLAristotle Athari, which received praise during its screening at festivals including SXSW, has been picked up for North American distribution and international sales by Level 33 Entertainment.
Marking the directorial debut of Michael Luke Litwack, who also wrote the screenplay, the film will be released exclusively in over 100 theaters across the country in early 2024 and thereafter across all digital platforms. International sales will begin during the 2023 American Film Market, which kicks off in Santa Monica on October 31.

It is scheduled to be screened this month at the BFI and Sitges Film Festivals. Molly and Max It tells the story of a man and a woman whose orbits repeatedly collide over the course of 12 years, four planets, three dimensions, and one alien cult. In addition to Litwak, producers on the picture included Ben J. Murphy, Candice Kuhara, Mallory Schwartz, and Kate Geller, who also served as casting director. Mamet and Athari exec produce alongside Ted Geoghegan, Luke Murphy, Nicole Murphy and Jeanne Elfant Festa.

Before Molli and Max, Litwak gained attention with his award-winning short films The life and death of Tommy is a mess And Stacey is dangerous a duck Alpha squadron. He has also previously written and directed feature projects for Sony and Warner Bros, while serving as a comedy commercial director for a variety of global brands and agencies.
The deal for his first feature film was negotiated by Ben J. Murphy of Whiskey Bear Productions on behalf of the filmmakers, and Olavarria on behalf of Level 33.
