– Police said there is a plan to resume the search by divers tomorrow, Sunday Namthal newspaper Saturday evening at 20.05.

By evening, the rescue operation was completed on the ground. On several occasions searches were carried out in the grounds and rooms of the area.

Emergency services, rescue divers and scores of volunteers were out on Friday evening to begin a search after two people in a boat were reported to have capsized, where one came ashore and the other was reported missing. According to the head of the police, Per Henrik Bykvist, the two men are in their 20s and are from the area. Helgeldingen has information confirming that the missing person is from Vefsn.

A SAR Queen rescue helicopter, the Red Cross from Krong, Overhalla and Kolveride, search dogs from Norwegian Rescue Dogs and civil defense from Namsos and Steinkjer were involved in the search throughout the evening and night.

Police and volunteers searched through the night, conducting surface searches on boats, beach searches and nearby cabins. Search crews described the search conditions as demanding due to darkness in the water and poor visibility.

The search has been intensified since Saturday morning.

At 09.51 on Saturday, the police announced on X/Twitter that a search operation had been launched for the person presumed dead. But parallel to that, the rescue work continues.

But so far the search has been unsuccessful.
