Gardeners are optimistic
We are talking about a new version from Microsoft, and it seems to us that Intel is not satisfied with the adoption rate from Windows 10 to Windows 11 – the former still has more than 70 percent market share and the rate of migration to Windows 11 has remained stagnant this summer. Is Windows 12 enough to sell new devices? We don’t know, but according to Gartner, the bottom must have been reached.
The analysis company reported that sales fell by nine percent to 64.3 million devices compared to the same period last year, and therefore believes that this is the lowest level the market will see. IDC figures indicate a 7.6 percent decline compared to 2022.
Waiting for Windows 10 to end support
Gartner believes the market will improve at the end of the year “as long as Christmas shopping does not fail.” IDC is not optimistic and believes it will take longer to recover, but “the end of support for Windows 10 will help drive sales in the first half of 2024 and beyond.”

The company says that Windows 10 Home, Pro Enterprise, and Education operating systems will not get any further upgrades and that 22H2 is the final release. Monthly security updates will be delivered until October 14, 2025. After that, they will end for version 10. Windows 10 launched in summer 2015, and Windows 11 October 2021.
