Tsimikas replaces Robertson – Grafenbrech gets his first league start

Ahead of the Merseyside derby on Saturday, there was tension over which team Jurgen Klopp would play in the first match after the national team’s break. Now it is clear who will be trusted from the beginning.

At left-back, Kostas Tsimikas replaces Andy Robertson, who suffered a serious shoulder injury with a flag on his chest. The rest of the defense consists, as expected, of Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahim Konate and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis McAllister have been placed in Klopp’s preferred XI, and with them in the middle they get Ryan Gravenberch – who is making his first league start.

In attack, Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah start on each wing, while Diogo Jota plays at centre-forward. Darwin Nunez starts on the bench, after suffering from a cramp at the end of the last match of the national team’s break.
