The Israeli Ministry of Education will remove curricula from Israeli textbooks that address Greta Thunberg’s climate activism.

This is what an Israeli newspaper reported HaaretzIn reference to the ministry’s statement.

– It came across crystal clear


Her position does not qualify her to be an educational and moral role model, and she is no longer suitable to be a source of inspiration for students in Israel.

The move comes after the climate activist shared an Instagram post earlier this week stating that genocide had occurred in Gaza.

Thunberg said: The world must raise its voice and demand an immediate ceasefire and justice and freedom for the Palestinians and all affected civilians.

Thunberg’s pro-Palestinian commitment now has consequences.

These statements sparked strong reactions in Israel, including from Israeli army spokesman Ari Sharoz Shalikar.

Shalekar later apologized for his comment on Thunberg.

– I spoke out of a deep feeling of sadness, and my words do not reflect my personal point of view or the point of view of the Israeli army. I apologize.

Greta Thunberg has not yet commented on the censorship.
