The Vikings’ golden hopes are now hanging by a very thin thread.
Bodø/Glimt now lead Eliteserien by six points and drop to the bottom team, who lost spectacularly 3-4 to Tromsø after turning 0-2 into 3-2. All the goals in Sunday’s big match were scored in the second half.
Brann and Tromsø are one point behind Viking in the race for the other medals.
The visitors took a two-goal lead from Troms for the first time shortly after half-time in Stavanger, thanks to two quick goals from Vegard Erlen.

But the big turnaround appeared to be about to come to an end when Lars-Jørgen Salvesen headed in a 3-2 lead for the Vikings in the opening corner from a Zlatko Trebek corner kick. This happened in the 85th minute of the match.
But the excitement over the important points did not end there. Tromsø substitute Lasse Nordas created a chance for his teammate Niklas Westerlund inside the Vikings Stadium, and the Dane scored 3-3 one minute before the end of normal time.
In extra time, another TIL substitute, Yao Bentsil, decided when he fired the ball into the near post.
– Now I’ll be completely honest with you: I was aiming for the opposite. It was a tricky shot, but I don’t care, the winner of the smooth match told TV 2 immediately after the match.
He fluctuates violently
Vikings captain Zlatko Trebek tried to put some words to what happened to the team in the final eleven minutes.
– When there are five or six minutes remaining, I think we show that we are a bit immature in decisive situations. “The fact that we’re not only very pessimistic, but we’re gunning for this victory, it shows that maybe we’re missing a little bit of expansion along the way,” Trebek told TV 2.
Patrick Yazbek reduced the score for the Vikings to 1-2 shortly before the middle of the second half. The 21-year-old was one of three Vikings players substituted approximately a quarter-hour before the game clock.

The trio of Joe Bell, Jan-Eric de Lanley and Sondre Ocklind came. It was the latter who scored 2-2 for El Sayed, after only two minutes on the pitch.

Thus Vegard Erlien’s quick goals and the visitors’ surprise start to the second half were equalised.
Chaotic and indecisive
Just three minutes earlier, Erlin was also the last on a low corner kick that created complete chaos on the Vikings’ court. The corner also came as a result of a huge passing error from Langas.
The goalkeeper sent a pass high towards the other side of the 16-metre box, and it fell straight in front of on-loan Vikings striker Mai Traoré in the away team’s red and white jersey.
Traoré’s post immediately afterwards led to a completely unnecessary misunderstanding between Marcus Solbakken and Shane Pattinama. When neither of the two were able to clear the ball out of the danger area, Langas was forced to play the ball to a corner kick.

On the ensuing set piece, the Vikings’ indecisive defensive play would only continue for the Vikings.
He met Traoré and tried to pass the corner with his heel into the five-metre box, where Erlen was the quickest to move his feet correctly. Tronder scored 0-1 from close range.

Controversy and yellow for photography
Before the two teams changed, not much happened before the two goals, but there was a heat at the SR-Bank Arena when returning loan player Samuel Adegbenro fell to the artificial turf. This happened after he collided with the leg of a Tromsø defender.
Referee Espen Eskas quickly showed the Nigerian a yellow card and ruled the shoot. This decision was upheld after a video review by VAR referee Tom Harald Hagen.
Adegbenro was clearly not happy with the decision made on the pitch at the time, but he nonetheless appeared exceptionally diplomatic when interviewed by TV 2 during the break.
– I can’t say anything against the referee. You’ve been knocked down, but he’s the judge. If he says it’s not a penalty, it’s not. “I don’t think it’s a yellow card, but what the referee decides is what sticks,” said the 27-year-old, who has a past at both Viking, Rosenborg and Sweden’s Norrkoping.
Vikings coach Morten Jensen also did not want to criticize the referee’s decision to the television channel before the start of the match in the second half.
