Vålerenga has struggled badly this season. 24 points in 26 games is the score with four games remaining in the Elite Series season.

– If Valerenga saves the place, they can breathe a sigh of relief, Yaw Amankwa, a TV 2 expert, tells Dagbladet.
– It is one of the worst performing clubs in Europe based on assumptions, believes Amankwa.
Joachim Jonsson, Valerenga sporting director, responds to Dagbladet as follows:

Vålerenga now holds the qualifying spot in Eliteserien. In their last four matches they have faced Sarpsborg (away), Stabaek (home), Hamkam (away) and Tromsø (home).
Amankwa forecast:
-I think they will end up in the playoffs and maintain their place. This is my expectation.
The direct landing places are Alesund and Sandefjord. Sandefjord, with 22 points, is now two points ahead of Vålerenga in the qualifying position.
In safe first place is Stabæk with 25 points. Above that again are HamKam and Haugesund with 27 and 30 points respectively.
Amankwa believes Sandefjord will fall behind Aalesund, who are in last place with 18 points.
– The Sandefjord program is not a deterrent, but I think Vålerenga will take enough points to qualify, says the expert.

When Dag-Eilev Fagermo finished at Vålerenga in June, the club was in 13th place and a safe place in the Eliteserien. His successor, Geir Bakke, has also struggled to score points at the Oslo club so far.
– Horrible
There is one statistic in particular that is disappointing, Amankwa believes:
Collect points at home.
– What disappointed me most was the level of the home team, especially when they got great “support” from the home fans, as the TV 2 profile says.
Vålerenga has eight points in 13 home games this year, which indicates an average of 0.61 points.
– The home statistics are quite shocking. “It becomes difficult to participate when the only thing you can invite is disappointment and defeat,” the expert continues.
– Rolling six in the stands, and rolling one on the field, sums up Amankwah.
Valerenga will meet Sarpsborg away from home on Sunday at 17:00. There, the Oslo team is in dire need of points.
