Last week it was reported that King Harald (86) is on sick leave until Friday 2 February. The cause is respiratory infection.
Crown Prince Haakon (50) then took over as Crown Prince Regent in his father's absence.
Sick leave
On Monday, news comes that Raja is back to health and back to work.
Already on Monday evening, according to the official plan of the royal palace, he will be at the Oslo military association.
The Norwegian monarch has been ill several times in recent years. According to Se og Hør's royal family expert Caroline Wagle, this is not particularly strange.
When he called in sick last week, he told Talkblade that it could have been more dramatic than that.
Raises eyebrows
– We must remember that it is not uncommon for a man of age to have various ailments, he said.
King Harald was also on sick leave after being diagnosed with corona last fall. Even then, the crown prince had to take over in his father's absence.
A press release then revealed that Raja had cold symptoms and was staying at home. He must remain on sick leave as long as he remains asymptomatic – in other words: indefinitely.
A week later he returned to work.
