-With the rise of artificial intelligence, we are entering a new era. Criminal circles have access to a new toolkit that leads to increased unpredictability, Telenor CEO Sigve Brekke said regarding findings presented on Wednesday.

– No matter whether you are an ordinary person or a business owner, we are all a target. Therefore, we must adapt, be vigilant and take action to protect our digital lives and values, says Brickey.

In 2023, Telenor stopped 280 million fraudulent calls globally. 31 million in Norway and 63 million in the Nordic countries.

– Increased digitization means greater vulnerability, so investments in digital security are no less important than investments in artificial intelligence. Norwegian companies and public institutions are increasingly exposed to serious cyberattacks, Brekke says.

Strong quarter

Telenor's revenue ended at NOK 20.9 billion in the fourth quarter. – The fourth quarter was another strong quarter for Telenor, says CEO Sigve Brekke.

The telecom giant said last year ended strong with strong revenue growth and strong cash flow in the fourth quarter and for the year as a whole.

EBITDA ended at NOK 34.6 billion, a growth of 2.8 percent compared to the previous year. Free cash flow ended at a total of NOK 15 billion.

-I am very satisfied that we continue to grow with new and better products for customers. The fourth quarter was another strong quarter for Telenor, says Sigve Bryke.

Services income for 2023, as a whole, amounted to NOK 62.5 billion, an increase of 4 percent compared to last year.

Service revenues for the fourth quarter amounted to NOK 16.1 billion, up 4.9 percent compared to the same period last year.

Telenor Norden and Telenor Asia achieved 4 and 7 percent growth respectively in services revenue in the latest quarter, while EBITDA growth ended at 5 and 4 percent.
