From autumn 2024, it will be possible to obtain nursing education starting in Gudbrandsdalen. Høgskolen i Innlandet offers education.
This opportunity comes after a good dialogue with the municipalities, Karriere Innlandet and Høgskolen i Innlandet, according to Ivar Vistekleiven, Chairman of Karriere Innlandet Gudbrandsdalen in a press release.
– With this, the required and necessary study offer will once again be available to residents.
Classes will also begin in Valdres and Hadland.

The vocational centers will be transformed into study centers and local training will be provided in the municipalities, according to the press release. Physical meetings and skills training will be held in the college's simulation room at Elverum.
– The offering is a part-time course over four years with 75 percent progression alternating between digital and physical combinations. Previously, this study was only practiced in the former district of Hedmark, while now we are opening and facilitating a more decentralized practice in the districts of Gudbrandsdal, Valdres and Hedland, explains Vestekleven.
Mette Arnestad from Høgskolen i Innlandet says it is gratifying that, in dialogue with the three regions, they seem to be finding good solutions so that the practice can be implemented closer to home.
The Career Centers previously served as a central facilitator and meeting place for nursing students, and we look forward to welcoming this group of students again, says Vestkleven.
– The beauty of this part-time study with a lot of digital teaching and local practice is that it is very much aligned with the students' work and family life. At the same time, adults need a meeting place that adapts to their lives and school situation, which the Career Center is looking to facilitate.
