Rima 1000 private jet Rima Reitan hides private planes: – He should act like people!

Rema-Reitan has now taken steps to prevent anyone from seeing where he uses the largest private jet he owns.

-Everyone hides for a reason. Reitan too, one of Norway's leading reputation experts, Hans Gilmuiden, tells Nettavisen.

He believes it would be unwise for Reitan to resort to more secrecy about the use of private jets.

Reitan takes action after Nettavisen revealed in several articles, among other things, that Reitan's reason for using a private jet was incorrect.

Reitan initially claimed that the flights were necessary for business trips to the Baltics, Denmark and Finland. These are the countries where Raytan has stores.

Feel free to tell us Nettavisen journalist!

But flight data revealed that the planes were primarily used on routes such as between Oslo and Trondheim.

The larger plane was also used regularly to Malaga, near the Retan family's holiday destination. In addition, it was used in Switzerland, where Odd Reitan's descendants live.

Like Elon Musk and Taylor Swift

Many websites such as Planefinder and Flightradar24 monitor where all the planes in the world fly. But there are some exceptions, aviation expert and Flypodden presenter Christian Camhaug tells Nettavisen.

Military aircraft are not tracked, and you probably cannot track Air Force One (President's Plane, editor's note) instead of. Transport planes to Ukraine will also be exempt from tracking, Camhogue says.

From what Nettavisen understands, it's also possible to pay to avoid being tracked. Private jet owners can also request not to be tracked for security reasons.

– Some people request to be exempt from tracking, and there can be different reasons for this. Camhugh says that both Elon Musk and Taylor Swift requested this for security reasons.

– Banned from public view

Reitan currently has two private jets. The largest plane is a Falcon 2000. If you try to track this plane you get this message:

“Restricted. This plane is hidden from public view.”

This is the plane that Reitan used to spend his vacation in Spain.

Meanwhile, Reitan's smallest plane can still be traced. It is a helicopter that is mostly flown locally in Norway.

He refuses to answer

Nettavisen asked Reitan why the largest plane could no longer be tracked.

This is the response we received from Reitan spokesperson and Reitan Value School Director, Berit Hvalrig:

– Thank you for your question. We do not wish to comment on this matter.

We also asked why they didn't want to track the plane, and how that relates to Reitan's values of openness and honesty.

Reitan confirmed that he had received the questions, but did not answer.

– The monk's cooking

Public relations expert and reputation expert Hans Gilmuiden believes that there is often a reason why someone might want to hide something.

– That's why most people think there's something wrong with taking planes to Reitan, says Gilmuiden.

At the same time that Reitan still uses private jets, Reitan Ole CEO Robert Reitan is very active on social media where he sends messages about sustainability and climate reduction. Gilmuiden believes this is a difficult combination.

– Reitan must choose whether to be open about the use of the plane, and continue to talk about sustainability, or hide the destination and use, and find something else to talk about. He says that there must be a relationship between life and learning.

“Should Reitan answer questions about private trips or is it wise to try?”To keep it quiet“?

– Of course they have to answer. Nothing can be silenced to death. “Everything becomes known,” says Gilmuiden.

– What harm or consequence might occur when Reitan handles the case this way?

Reitan makes his living by selling food to the Norwegian people. Then he has to act like people! We can shop at Kiwi or Coop Extra instead, says PR expert Hans Gilmuiden.
