Spanish TV channel Movistar Plus+ expelled football expert German Burgos (54 years old) after he commented on a live broadcast.

After Barcelona's 3–2 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the first Champions League quarter-final, the players refused to give interviews to the channel due to what could be seen as a racist comment towards Barcelona's young winger Lamin Yamal.

– The TV channel stated that Movistar Plus+ condemns any form of discrimination and will not allow such comments from any employees or partners connected to the platform.

according to Reuters Burgos, a former Argentina goalkeeper and Atletico Madrid assistant, had the following to say about the 16-year-old Yamal ahead of Wednesday's Champions League quarter-final between Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain:

-If professional football doesn't go well for him, he could end up at a traffic light.

The comment was interpreted as a reference to people who stop at traffic lights and ask motorists for money.

Both teams then refused to give interviews to Movistar Plus+ after the match.

– UEFA, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain were very upset by Burgos' statement, and informed that no player from the teams would speak to the channel in protest, reporter Ricardo Sierra told viewers after the match.

Born in Spain to Moroccan and Equatorial Guinean parents, Yamal became an important part of Barcelona and Spain's attacking trio, setting several records as the youngest player.

On Wednesday, he also became the youngest player to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
