On the Ignite podcast, the 23-year-old from Sandnes says that under normal circumstances, he believes the odds of collecting the second Olympic gold medal of his career are great.
-If I didn't hurt myself or get sick, it would be very easy. Ultimately, it's a competition in which everyone does their best, but sometimes things don't go as planned, says Ingebrigtsen.

Ingebrigtsen, who will become a father for the first time before this summer's Olympics, has had to see the gold medal in the distance go to waste at each of the last two world championships. In Eugene in 2022, Briton Jake Whiteman was very strong, before his compatriot Josh Kerr escaped with the most expensive metal in Budapest last year.
Especially with the latter, Ingebrigtsen's team has had an ongoing 'war of words' since finishing first and second respectively in the Hungarian capital.

– The rivalry between me and Ingebrigtsen is mainly about our self-confidence. “I think I'm the best in the world at 1,500 metres, and he probably thinks the same,” Kerr told the BBC.
The Briton has previously claimed that Jakob Ingebrigtsen has “big weaknesses”, while the Norwegian responded that Kerr is “just one of the crowd”.
On May 25, the two rivals meet in Eugene.
