Benedikt Schilbreed Wasmer will be the new CEO of Telenor

(E24) The Board of Directors of Telenor has appointed Benedikt Schilbreed-Wassmer as the new CEO of Telenor, the company announced in a statement. Stock exchange announcement.

Wasmer is currently CEO of Sparebank 1 SR-Bank, but has now resigned from his job.

She also previously held the position of Executive Vice President at Fremtid forsikring and Executive Vice President at DNB, where she headed the corporate market. Wasmer was also Chairman of Oslo Børs, a member of the Supervisory Board of Norges Bank and a member of the Board of Directors of Vipps.

– The Board of Directors was looking for the best qualified candidate to lead Telenor, and we are pleased that Benedikt Schilbreed Wasmer has agreed to take on this role, says Chairman of the Board Jens Peter Olsen.

The company writes that the board began finding Brekke's successor this winter. Both external and internal candidates were considered.

– Benedict's strong background in senior management from technology and customer-focused companies, and extensive experience in senior management and the board of directors, impressed the board, says Olsen.

In the letter, Wasmer states that she feels honored to have been given the opportunity to lead Telenor.
