It has been three and a half months since his dismissal in Cyprus. Now Ketil Reykdal will help Utestad in the fourth division.

The Norwegian Fifth Level Club confirmed, via its website, that Reykdal will assist him in the technical staff until the end of next June.

– I have to contribute to the local environment, says Reykdal to Hamar Arbederblad.

– He'll probably be a VG expert when there are EC play-offs, laughs head coach Lars Hollberg.

VG's expert function is one of the reasons why resource time is only three and a half weeks.

Anyway, Hallberg is happy with this “signing,” and is grateful for all the help he can get on the sidelines.

-I just had cruciate ligament surgery and I use crutches, so I find it difficult to stay on the field during the day. I want all the help I can get. He says it would be fun to bring a resource like Kjetil into the team.

Kjetil Rekdal has recently been an expert commentator for VG, including during the CL final:

The coach hopes that Reykdal's entry will help his team start collecting points. Öttestad has had a heavy season in the fourth division and stands with a poor three points from eight matches and is bottom of the table.

– He is at least top of Norway in winning matches for his team. We followed him closely in Hamkam. If we achieve a few percentages of what he achieved there, it will be a lot.

– It was natural to ask Kgitil. He lives in the local area, has children at the club and has played before, Tore-Ketil Stårvik, Ottestad IL's football group leader, tells VG.

Reykdal will conduct his first training session on the field tomorrow, Friday. Ottestad meets Valdres on Sunday, but it is not clear whether Reykdal will be seen on the sidelines then.

Reykdal has been out of work since his dismissal from Cypriot team Omonia at the end of February. The Cyprus adventure lasted only six weeks.

Kjetil Rekdal is on the books with 83 caps and 17 goals for Norway.

He previously coached Valerenga, Lierse, Kaiserslautern, Alesund, Start, Hamkam and Rosenborg.
