A car caught fire at Torshove in Oslo

A terrible fire broke out in Torsho, Oslo, involving four cars on Tuesday evening.

– We have information indicating that the cars were set on fire, says Christopher Bang, incident leader at the scene.

The police received information that a person on a scooter was traveling from the area.

Oslo police confirmed to VG on Wednesday morning that no arrests have yet been made in the case.

Cars were parked on the street at several houses. There was a lot of fire and smoke at the scene, but no one was injured or evacuated.

There is no risk of transmission.

– The fire brigade quickly went to the scene, there was a good effect of extinguishing operations, said Eirik Sundt Fredriksen at 110 Central to VG at 11 pm.

Emergency services were first alerted to the fire at 10.56pm.

Finally last week, a man was arrested and charged with setting fire to six cars in Kjelsås, Oslo.

– Do you see the link?

– It's too early to say anything about this, operations manager Björn Endal Pedersen tells VG.

– Why do you think the fire was set?

– Each car appears to have been burned separately, Pedersen says, and they are unharmed.

Police are conducting searches and technical and tactical investigations in the area.
