Ilya Sutskever, former senior developer at OpenAI, announced that his new company is called “Safe Superintelligence Inc.”

“A direct shot at safe superintelligence.”

On May 15, news became known that Sutskever was on his way out of the company – he announced this on X at the time:

“After nearly a decade, I have made the decision to leave OpenAI. The company's trajectory has been nothing short of miraculous, and I am confident that OpenAI will build safe and useful AGI with excellent research leadership. It has been an honor and privilege to work together and I will miss you all. Thank you For this long, thank you for everything. I'm excited about what the project has in store for us – a project of great personal importance to me and I will share details about it when appropriate,” he said on X's website.

Now he is ready to announce the new company SSI Inc:

“Building Secure Superintelligence (SSI) is the most important technology problem of our time. We started the world's first live SSI lab, with one goal and one product: Secure Superintelligence. It's called Safe Superintelligence Inc. SSI is our mission, our name, and our map. Our entire product path, because it is our sole focus. Our team, investors and business model are all aligned to achieve SSI.

We treat security and capabilities side by side, as technical problems to be solved through revolutionary engineering and scientific breakthroughs. We plan to improve capabilities as quickly as possible while ensuring that our safety always comes first.
