NOK 10,000 and 10 hours by car. “We've been waiting for over six months,” says Liz Pandehagen (21).
Currently the summer festival is in full swing. There is already a good atmosphere in the camp belonging to the Stavern festival.
– Pandehagen tells VG that there are many good people here, at least cool artists.
She and her friends have traveled from Askøy outside Bergen to Stavern for this year's festival.
– 10 hours by car for us, but it's worth it, says Natalie Skogen (20).
Arriving at the camp on Tuesday evening, they have high expectations for today's concert.
– They say Sam Smith will be very good.
The women estimate that they each spent NOK 10,000 over the upcoming long weekend.
– They say it includes festival pass, camping, petrol, food and drink.
– Part of the experience
During weekend stays, girls and campers share a bathroom, toilet and make-up mirror.
– It's a bit rubbish, but part of the experience, the girls tell VG.
But despite the high price and freezing rain, the gang is satisfied.
– It's so much fun, we've been looking forward to it for over six months.
Amid the warm festival tents and loud music, an exploration team from across the country is well underway with spring even before the festival begins.
– Where this is happening, we are in a good mood, says Nicolae Lund (23).
– Not here to sleep
The gang of boys has several tents one after the other and they have brought much needed supplies with them.
Ruben Vegines calls VG “Stavern's fattest tent”.
– Here I have Powerrate, mixed water, and some chips, even vitamins, he says and shows.
Space is tight in the tents, but this group doesn't mind. They reached the area last night.
– We didn't sleep much, but that didn't matter, the Stavern was not for sleeping, but for having fun.
They got together for a “beer pong” with someone they met at the same festival last year.
– The best thing about Stavern is the guys, says Lund.
For the record: VG is one of the sponsors of Stavern Festival. This contract is handled by VG's marketing department and is independent of the editorial staff.
