Saturday 6 July was a special day for Tarjei Bø and her chosen one Gita Simonsen. They gave each other their “yes” in the beautiful Nedstrøn Church, surrounded by family, friends and the entire Norwegian biathlon elite.
The venerable Visnes Hotel served as the venue for the after-party, where joy and love filled the air.

Originally from Stryn, Tarjei Bø is one of Norway’s top biathletes. With eleven World Cup gold medals, one overall World Cup victory and three Olympic golds, he has earned a place in the history books. Earlier this year, he showed his mettle once again by finishing third in the sprint at Oberhof.
Bø is not only a world-class athlete, but also a devoted family man. Along with Jetta, he has a one-year-old son, Aaron. Bø says life has never been better, both on and off the pitch.
On the way out of the church
The story of how Gita captured Tarji’s heart is sweet and funny. On Instagram, she recently shared a screenshot of the first message she sent him on Tinder in 2017: “So bad about the toilet, maybe hit him here instead?”
This appropriate and charming message led to the beginning of their love story.
Both Tarjei and Gita shared moments from their wedding weekend on their social media. Photos from the big day and happy moments with friends and family were shared with followers.
