Launching Office 2021 and announcing its prices

Microsoft announced yesterday that Office 2021 will be released on October 5 for PC and Mac with several new features. The Office 2021 suite of applications includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote with Outlook as an option.

Office 2021 includes many collaboration features already available to Microsoft 365 subscribers, such as real-time document development and access to Microsoft Teams for chat and video calls. Microsoft outlines many new features, including new inking tools, translation and editing tools, live graphics, greater usability, and much more.

The non-subscription version of Office Home and Student 2021 is priced at $149.99 ($1300) in the US and includes access to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote for personal use. There’s also Office Home and Business 2021 for $249.99 which includes everything home and student, plus Outlook and software usage rights for business purposes.

It was launched at the same time as Windows 11

Microsoft says Office 2021 will be supported on Windows 10 and 11 and on the three most recent versions of macOS, possibly referring to macOS Monterey, macOS Big Sur, and macOS Catalina.
