The man has been reported missing for almost a day.
On Tuesday night, police launched a search on Twitter for a man who was staying away from a cabin south of Colavadnet in Cola.
Police Chief Operating Officer Sitchel Swarstad says the search has just begun at 9pm and that police have begun sending dogs out of Norwegian rescue dogs. In order not to destroy any traces, search teams are not sent until the dogs are allowed to go to the room where the man went missing.
– There are some challenges in getting the helicopter due to fog and rain in the area. We are not sure if we will get the helicopter, so we use drones and those on the ground, he says.
Once the dogs have surveyed the terrain, people are sent to livestock and ATVs.
Last seen yesterday
Relatives said the 70-year-old dignitary went missing tonight. The last safe contact with him is said to have been yesterday afternoon.
The man must be in good condition for his age, he both hunts and goes for walks. The police were not aware of the underlying diseases.
However, the terrain around the cabin can be challenging. This room is located at an altitude of 900-1000 meters above sea level and the weather in the area is fairly harsh. Swirlstad, operations manager, says the cabin is surrounded by rough terrain, forest, swamps and water. Study teams will be set up to search roads, roads and forests.
The police need tips in this case and can be contacted at 02800.
