The police in Innlandet write that they were notified by AMK at 12.58 about the collapse of the roof of a room in Nordre Land municipality. This decline was due to snow plowing.
Police wrote that two people were at the scene, one of whom, a 70-year-old man, was buried in the landslide.
– We were notified by AMK at 12:15 p.m. It started as a health mission where both the ambulance, air ambulance and fire brigade were on the scene. In the police we came a little later, Froed Averas, Operations Manager of the Interior Police, tells VG.
Two friends in their 70s were shoveling snow from the roof of a private room when the accident happened.
– One is on the roof and the other is below. Then all the snow from the roof falls on the person standing below, who is buried, says Øverås.
The man was extricated and resuscitation efforts were attempted at the scene, but the man was pronounced dead.
– There is heavy snow during the day, so we encourage people to be cautious. Øverås says it’s harmless for pitched roofs.
Øverås said the crisis team has been notified to the family and friend of the deceased.
– A case has been opened, and it has been decided to conduct an autopsy on the person. Øverås tells VG that as of now, the incident is considered a tragic accident.
Relatives have been informed.
