After he shared a video from an exciting hotel experience, Tim Doyle (45) has gone viral.
Doyle was going to a training course in Brisbane, Australia. Looking for a budget-friendly hotel for two nights, the 45-year-old found a hotel close to the city center for about 1,200 Norwegian kroner per night, which is cheap for being in the city. Plus, it was close to the course headquarters – and he could experience the city at night.
“Since I couldn’t be in the city at night very often, I wanted to live close to downtown,” Doyle says in the video.
Almost shaft
On the other hand, the 45-year-old had no idea what nightmare awaited him.
– When I arrived at the accommodation, I realized that this was the worst decision I had ever made, he says.
His video, where he warns others against staying at the Turbot House Hotel, has been viewed by more than a hundred thousand.

– I almost spit up in the elevator from the bad smell emanating from the elevator shaft, he says in the video.
The smell of cigarettes
he tells the tabloid News He travels a lot for work, and says that even though it’s cheap, he expects it to be clean. It wasn’t just the elevator that proved to be the problem:
– Then I walked through the door of my room and looked around and thought, “You’re kidding.”
Doyle describes a whiff of cigarettes and unpleasant odors in the room. He photographs stains on walls and fallen floorboards.

Found mold
On the other hand, the stench was only a small problem compared to what Doyle found immediately. The room was covered in dust and mud, and the air conditioning unit reportedly smelled unbearably foul when Doyle turned it on.
– The second I saw the air cooling system, I went straight to the store and bought a disinfectant spray, he says.

Attention-grabbing: – I’ve never seen anything like it before
Avisa News has been in touch with mold removal expert Gerard Murtagh:
– In the video, it definitely looks like mold, but without being able to physically test it, I can’t confirm that. Based on nearly 15 years of experience, the air conditioning system shown in the video appears to be infested with mold. It may not have been washed in years. However, without being able to perform physical tests I cannot confirm this.
