Amalie Ewell, 30, made another attempt on Saturday afternoon to meet Olympic requirements at Malmo Stadium in Sweden.
Ewell continues to show good pace on the track and field and was the strongest in the final, but did not achieve a great time across the Swedish border. The 30-year-old clocked 55.78. It's almost a second behind the Olympic requirements for the exercise.
– It was a good race. I'm happy with the time considering it got as messy as it did. There was a lot of trouble with the rhythm of the steps, but despite that I reached the finish line first. Ewell says it's fun to be a Nordic champion Norwegian Athletics Federation.
Open up about the trauma
In her first race in Nairobi last April, the 30-year-old excelled when Ewell clocked 54.89 seconds. It had to meet the requirements of the European Commission.
At the same time, it was only four hundredths of the Olympic requirement of 54.85. The track and field star has a personal record of 54.68.
Ewell became a mother on September 1 last year.
“It's been seven and a half months since I gave birth, and it's crazy to see what the female body can do,” Ewell said after performing well in Kenya, when she was also well below the EU requirement of 55.70.
At the beginning of May, Ewell was among the Norwegian women to earn an Olympic berth in the 4 x 400 metres. Over the weekend in the Bahamas, they bettered the Norwegian distance record by two.
