Alesund offers students an early Christmas break

To control the spread of corona infection, the municipality of Alessandr is extending the school Christmas holidays as staffing is needed. It now starts on December 17th.

The municipality writes in a press release that the SFO will still be open to parents and children in need of the offer on December 20th and 21st.

The decision of the crisis management in the municipality was taken on the basis of the so-called “a lot of sick leave among the staff due to corona condition and respiratory diseases”.

In Denmark, it has been decided to give a Christmas holiday from December 15 to primary and secondary schools to control the epidemic in schools. On Wednesday, Education Minister Tonje Brenna (Labor) told the NTB that it was inappropriate to implement it in Norway:

– Closing schools is an intrusive activity that affects both children and their parents. Schools should not be closed as a preventative measure.
